MentalRIB allows you to export Maya scenes and shading networks to Renderman format, by exploiting the excellent translator built into Maya that exports to MentalRay scene format. MentalRIB then seemlessly translates this into Renderman RIB and shaders. It is written in Java so should run on almost any operating system. For a full list of features see the manual. Here is a step by step demonstration:

(1) First create your Maya scene, and apply textures and shaders;

(2) You can test render the scene using Maya's built in MentalRay renderer if you want;

(3) Export the file (or an entire animation) in MentalRay scene file format;

(4) Use MentalRIB to translate the scene, textures and shading networks into Renderman format.

(5) Render the result using a Renderman compliant renderer, such as 3Delight. Spot the difference!
